Why hire a local Arvada or Colorado are sound recordist?

There are several reasons to hire a local sound person for audio tech services. You save time and money, as well travel costs hiring a sound person to travel into Colorado. There are several other reasons to hire a local audio guy like myself. They may, or often do know the area very well. What’s an Audio Tech/Technician?

An audio tech is an older common term used for a sound person  ( production sound mixer or recordist ) and is commonly used in America. Whereas Europe, Australia among other countries use the term a soundy, soundie, or a sound recordist, . Like all the synonyms the audio tech mixes sources including shotgun microphones, lip mics, lavalieres, stick microphones, into a mixer/recorder most commonly, then often to a camera or digital audio file. Many cameras have some type of reference time code, along with the recorder having time code capability.

The audio tech is an older common term mostly in video, film or television production and is often required to be a mobile person following the camera. The most recent synonyms for ‘audio tech or technician’ are considered now to be a sound technician, operator, mixer or recordist. Another older nickname for a sound recordist or assistant is a “Boom Operator” and this is due to use of a shotgun mic and or other sources into a sound mixer. A boom operator or operators are still used in addition to the lead sound engineer (persons) in motion picture film or modern larger scale productions. The modern sound recordist is often tasks with mixing lavalieres, a boom or other potential mic/microphone sources at the same time.
